A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in KDE Plasma Workspace up to 5.93.0. This affects the function EventPluginsManager::enabledPlugins of the file components/calendar/eventpluginsmanager.cpp of the component Theme File Handler. The manipulation of the argument pluginId leads to path traversal. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The complexity of an attack is rather high. fishProtocol::establishConnection in fish/fish.cpp in KDE kio-extras through 20.04.0 makes a cacheAuthentication call even if the user had not set the keepPassword option. This may lead to unintended KWallet storage of a password.

konqueror/konq_combo.cc in Konqueror 3.5.7 allows remote attackers to spoof the data: URI scheme in the address bar via a long URI with trailing whitespace, which prevents the beginning of the URI from being displayed.

The KDE HTML library (kdelibs), as used by Konqueror 3.5.5, does not properly parse HTML comments, which allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks and bypass some XSS protection schemes by embedding certain HTML tags within a comment in a title tag, a related issue to CVE-2007-0478.

KDE 3.2.x and 3.3.0 through 3.3.2, when saving credentials that are (1) manually entered by the user or (2) created by the SMB protocol handler, stores those credentials for plaintext in the user's .desktop file, which may be created with world-readable permissions, which could allow local users to obtain usernames and passwords for remote resources such as SMB shares.
